Proposal Specialist
INS is seeking a Proposal Specialist to join our Financial and Market Regulation Team.
Job Description:
The Proposal Specialist will be responsible for coordinating, tracking, writing, and delivering all requests for proposals (RFPs) issued by state regulatory agencies, on behalf of INS’s financial and market regulation divisions. This is a remote, full-time position that offers reasonable working hours flexibility and an attractive work-life balance.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Receive and record all RFPs. Create outlines, research prior responses and organize all information needed for proposals.
- Coordinate with assigned managers regarding the technical and substantive information to be included in proposals. This includes coordinating with management in specialty areas for comprehensive proposals.
- Calculate proposal budgets for professional fees and travel estimates, when required.
- Draft, review, and deliver final proposals to state agencies in the required format, by the stipulated deadline.
- Track status of proposals and conduct follow ups, submit RFP inquiries, and gather competitive intelligence from state agencies for future proposals.
- Maintain information logs regarding all proposals, including key information and results, as well as a project log of awarded projects.
- Maintain the Company’s RFP database in an organized and logical manner; sufficient to utilize information from prior proposals efficiently when writing future responses.
- Notify INS management of proposal awards and distribute the necessary information, such as job timing, budgets, staffing and other relevant matters.
- Draft engagement letters, statements of work, contract amendments and other technical memorandums as required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe PDF writer and other software/programming skills
- Excellent organizational skills required; need to request and obtain timely information from INS management
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Experience working in the insurance industry, insurance regulation or public accounting preferred, but not required
- Self-motivated and detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines while working independently
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
